Here the Knot Dr will give you some of our best advice for getting a great lift for your naturally flat hair.
How Do I Use A Hair Brush To Add Volume To My Hair?
One of the easiest ways to add volume to your flat hair is by brushing it. You can use certain techniques to get loads of volume from a regular hair brush by focusing on the hair at your roots.
Backcombing / Teasing - Backcombing may sound like something lost to the big hair of the 1980s, but it's still a commonly used technique amongst hair stylists, only they tend to call it 'teasing' now. Teasing involves lightly brushing the bottom layers of hair upward to create a natural volume boost. The top layer of the hair remains smooth, so you don't see any combed hair. You can achieve this look using a comb or a small hair brush.
Hair Brush Blow Dry - You can use a round brush, such as our The Rounds barrel brush to create a bouncy blow-out or tip your head upside down and brush your hair out as you dry it. This can help to create volume at the roots – just be sure to use a detangling brush!
How Can I Use Heat Tools To Create Volume? Heat tools are another great way to give your hair some much-needed volume. They can help you get long-lasting waves or curls in your hair, making it appear fuller and volumised.
Don't forget to use a heat protector before you style your hair! This will help to prevent the heat from damaging the hair.
Curling Iron – The quickest and easiest way to get some volume is to use a curling iron or wand. You can pick a big barrel for wider, softer curls or a small 'chopstick' barrel for little ringlets.
Heated Rollers - Heated rollers are a great way to add some volume to your roots and get a lovely lift. They can create amazing vintage-style soft curls and waves, especially when brushed out gently.
If you want to keep your curls in all day, consider using a styling mousse or hairspray to hold the hairs in place.

]]>If you're going to invest in hair extensions, it's important that you know how to look after them. Just like your normal hair, hair extensions can become tangled and broken if they're not properly cared for.
In this blog, The Knot Dr.® will give you the best advice on how to wash, brush and care for your hair extensions so you can expand their life.
What Type of Hair Extensions do you Have?
It's important to identify what type of hair extensions you have to look after them. Hair extensions can be attached to your hair via beads, adhesives, and strips, or they can be clip-ins that you can remove. There are two main types of extensions:
It's vital you know what type of hair extensions you have, as synthetic hair behaves differently from human hair. High heat could damage synthetic extensions beyond repair, while heat styling devices (like hairdryers and straighteners) are safe for human hair extensions.
How to Wash Hair Extensions
Hair extensions attached to your hair through bonds or strips will require washing just as you would your regular hair. However, clip-in extensions require less maintenance and do not need to be washed as often, especially if they are not being worn regularly.
Synthetic Hair – to wash synthetic hair, we recommend giving it a 'shampoo bath'. To do this, place the hair extensions in a warm bath filled with water and shampoo, allowing them to sit for 10-15 mins. Once the extensions have soaked, rinse them off with cool water. Allow it to dry naturally.
Human Hair – when washing human hair extensions, you can treat them just as you'd treat your natural hair. Start with a clarifying shampoo and follow up with a nourishing conditioner. If your hair feels extra-dry, pop on a deep-conditioning treatment to refresh your locks.
Human hair extensions will naturally have a longer life than synthetic hair extensions, as synthetic can't be repaired like human extensions. Human hair can be deep-conditioned, but synthetic doesn't have the capability to absorb the moisture from the conditioner.
How to Brush Hair Extensions
Hair extensions have a reputation for tangling easily, so it's vital to understand how to keep them knot-free if you want to expand their life.
For clip-in extensions, it's often easiest to lay them flat on a surface like a table and brush through them, holding them at the top, so they don't move.
For fixed hair extensions, you'll want to use a detangling brush to very gently brush through the hair. You must be gentle when brushing, as you don't want to rip out an extension accidentally.
To avoid split ends and ruined bonds, we recommend you use a dedicated detangling brush like our The Knot Dr.® Pro to detangle and get effortlessly sleek, soft hair. Our brushes have many fantastic features that make them kind to hair but tough on tangles. Shop our full The Knot Dr.® range and expand the life of your hair extensions now!

If you find that your hair is prone to tangles and knots, it may be because you have fine hair.
Fine hair has many benefits; for example, it often has a lot more natural shine than coarse hair. However, it easily becomes dry or damaged when exposed to too much heat, dry weather conditions, or friction, and this can lead to nasty tangles and an unkempt appearance.
In this article, The Knot Dr.® teaches you what 'fine hair' means and what you can do to keep it under control. Let's get into it!
What Is Fine Hair?
'Fine hair' is a type of hair texture classified by the circumference of the actual hair strands. Fine hair strands are smaller in circumference, whilst 'coarse hair' is thicker.
Having fine hair doesn't always mean your hair looks 'thin'. You can have a large quantity of fine hair, making your hair appear full (this is what we call a high density of follicles). 'Fine' refers to the texture of the individual strands and not the overall appearance.
Fine hair often responds to heat tools very well and needs less product to get great results compared to coarse hair. However, fine hair is also prone to tangles and knots and requires extra care to keep it looking smooth and silky.
What You Can Do to Care for Unkempt Fine Hair
The key to caring for unkempt fine hair is ensuring that you're keeping it well nourished and using the right hair care tools on it. Here are some of our best tips for caring for fine hair:

Have you noticed that your hair is balling up at the base of your neck? This is most often due to a lack of brushing. The hair at the base of your neck is finer than the hair on the top of your head and, as such, is more prone to tangles.
As it’s not a top layer of hair, it’s really easy to miss during brushing, and the longer it’s left, the worse it gets. In this blog, and The Knot Dr.® gives you our best advice for stopping the ball up at the base of the neck and preventing it from happening again.
Why Does The Hair Only Ball Up at the Base of the Neck?
If your hair isn’t prone to tangling anywhere else, you may find it strange that it does at the base of your neck. The reason hair is more prone to tangles here is that the hair tends to be finer than elsewhere on your head.
It’s important to note that fine hair isn’t the same as ‘thin hair’. You can have lots of fine hair on your head, making it appear thick overall. So, even if your hair looks full naturally, you probably still have finer hair in this area.
How To Get Rid of the Ball at the Base of the Neck
One of the best ways to get rid of the ball at the base of the neck is to ensure you’re brushing all of your hair. This involves getting to each layer of hair to ensure it’s tangle-free.
Using a high-quality detangling brush like our The Knot Dr.® Pro, we suggest flipping your hair upside down so you can brush the inner layers of hair first. This ensures that you’re taking care of that finer layer of hair and prevents further balling or damage.
When removing an existing ball of hair, hold your hair above the ball area firmly and brush downwards; this will prevent pulling too hard on the roots and hurting your scalp.
Another way to do this is by lifting the hair layer by layer and brushing individual sections. Though this may be a little more time-consuming, using a handy smaller-sized brush like our Pro Mini can help you to get into all the difficult areas you may usually miss when brushing.

Split ends happen when the hair becomes damaged. They're usually caused by what we call 'mechanical stress', which is damage that results from over-styling, grooming, or friction to the hair.
Too much pulling or heat on your hair can damage the cuticle and cause the hair's outer layer to split. This usually results in you having to cut the ends of your hair, so it appears healthy again.
In this blog, we'll give you our best tips for preventing split ends before they happen and look into what you can do to minimise the appearance of existing split ends between trims.
Why Do I Get Split Ends?
There are several reasons why you might get split ends, including:
For most people, split ends will start to show up a few months after a haircut, as the freshly trimmed hair starts to take on damage.
Split ends are very common; however, if you're trying to grow your hair, it may not be a viable option to get a haircut every few months to get rid of them.
Instead, you should work on creating a hair care routine that's gentle on your locks to stop split ends before they're too damaged to be repaired.
What Can I Do to Prevent Split Ends?
The first step is always prevention – if you can stop hair damage before it happens, you won't have to deal with the difficult repair processes later. Here are a few things you can do to prevent split ends:
A combination of all of these techniques can help you to prevent breakage and stop split ends.
What Can I Do to Help Split Ends?
Unfortunately, there's nothing you can do to repair split ends. Once the hair has split, there is no way to bring it back together – the only thing you can do to get rid of a split end is to get it cut off. If you're not ready for a trim, there are a couple of things you can do to minimise the appearance of split ends:
Keep in mind that split ends tend to tangle very easily, as the hair becomes dry when broken. Using a top-notch hair bush to get through tangles and knots without causing further damage is therefore very important.
We recommend our The Knot Dr.® Pro Mini for close-up control over your tangles, with no pulling on the hair that could damage it further

By cutting off your hair, it can’t make it longer. Hair grows from the root, so cutting hair from the ends of your head won’t make a difference in how fast your hair can grow. It can, however, massively improve the look of your hair, especially if you have split ends.
If you do want to grow your hair, read on for our best tips and tricks for creating faster hair growth.
The first thing to understand about growing your hair faster is that hair grows from the root. If you want your hair to grow faster, you will need to ensure that your scalp is healthy and that your roots are getting the nutrients and stimulants they need to encourage hair growth. There are a few ways that you can do this:
It’s also important to look after the lengths of your hair while you’re growing it out. Caring for your ends will prevent split-ends and reduce the need for a haircut. Here are some tips of things you can do to keep your ends happy while you’re growing out your locks:

]]>Your hair may feel a little different in winter. The colder climate can result in your hair feeling dry, brittle, and weathered as exposure to the elements is heightened and the air inside tends to be dryer.
It is possible to keep your hair feeling good during the winter months; it just takes a little extra self-care (and hair care!) to ensure that the hair gets the nourishment and treatment it needs to get its shine back.
We've put together some of our best winter hair-care tips. Let's look into it!
Why Does My Hair Tangle More In Winter?
Your hair is more prone to tangles and knots when dry and damaged. The dry winter climate can easily take some of the moisture from your hair and leave it more brittle. This, coupled with the constant putting-on and taking-off of winter hats and scarves, can cause your hair to tangle more.
How Should I Wash My Hair In Winter?
There's a popular old hairdresser saying that you should treat your hair like a cashmere sweater in winter. This is one of the most important winter hair-care tips you need to know – you need to be gentle with your hair, or it could easily tear.
If you wouldn't throw your new, expensive cashmere sweater into a boiling-hot wash, you definitely should not be doing that with your hair in the shower. We understand that sometimes after a freezing cold day, you want a steamy shower, and that's okay! However, make sure you turn down the heat when you're washing your hair, or – if you can't stand the cold, you can wash your hair separately over a bathtub or sink.
Use a hydrating conditioner to help restore moisture to your hair; just like if you were washing that cashmere sweater, use a high-quality product made from natural ingredients for the best results. You want something that won't dry out your hair, so look for paraben-free products that contain lots of healthy essential oils.
How Do I Get Rid Of The Tangles In My Hair?
Getting rid of tangles in your hair starts with a good hair brush. You need to use a specialist detangling brush that will easily break apart the knots without damaging your hair. Low-quality brushes can snag the hair further, resulting in hair loss and breakage.
You should, at the very least, brush your hair in the morning and before bed, but we'd recommend that you brush your hair throughout the day, too, especially if you've been wearing a hat while outside. Having a suitable on-the-go hair brush can help you to keep control over your tangles.
After brushing, you can follow up with a light layer of hair oil to help restore some moisture to your hair. This is especially important at night, as it will help revive the hair as you sleep.

Self-care isn’t just a trend; it should be an important part of our daily routine. Self-care keeps us feeling healthier and happier!
When it comes to self-care, we forget about our hair. Just as we sometimes treat our skin with a face mask or body butter, we should treat our hair with some nourishment by doing an intensive hair treatment now and again.
In this guide, we’ll teach you how you can give yourself the ultimate at-home hair mask using our favourite hair tips and tricks. Go on, treat yourself to some deep conditioning!
Five Steps To Perfectly Nourished Hair
Giving your hair some tender love ‘n care doesn’t have to be a long, difficult process. We know many of you live busy, active lifestyles, so we’ve reduced it to five easy-to-follow steps.
Step 1 – Shampoo your hair as usual and towel dry gently. We recommend using a nourishing shampoo with natural ingredients and fragrances to cleanse your scalp. If you have curly hair, try a shampoo specially made to keep your curls intact. Always be very gentle when towel trying, especially if you have fine hair.
Step 2 – Once your hair is towel dried, we recommend brushing through it with one of our Knot Dr Pro hairbrushes (if you live life on the go, take a look at our Knot Dr Pro Mini with headcase!). Our brushes are made specifically to be used on both dry and wet hair –meaning that they won’t rip or damage the hair at all! This will help to untangle your hair and make the next step much easier.
Step 3 – Now your hair is tangle-free, it’s time to apply your treatment. There are many different hair treatments, but we’d select something made from natural or salon-approved ingredients for the best results. You can ask your hairdresser for a recommendation if needed! Take a generous amount of treatment and work it into your hair from the ends up to the roots. Avoid putting any directly on your scalp area, as deep conditioners can sometimes make the scalp feel greasy.
Step 4 – Let the product sit on your hair for 10-15 minutes. For best results, you can insulate your hair with a warm towel or even apply some heat with a hairdryer. However, if you just want to throw the product on and leave it while you watch TV or do the dishes, there’s no harm in that either.
Step 5 – Finally, you will want to rinse the product out of your hair. Make sure to rinse until the water runs clear and no product is left in your hair. Once clean, you can brush it out again with your trusty Knot Dr Pro and decide if you want to air-dry or blow-dry. Say hello to your refreshed hair!
Everyday Self (Hair) Care
We hope this article has given you some ideas on how you can create a salon-quality at-home hair treatment. You’ll be feeling and looking great in no time!

]]>There is a lot of advice about hair on the internet. A lot of this is not curated or checked by professionals – and can actually damage your hair – so it's important that you have reliable sources to turn to when you need serious hair help!
Here at the Knot Dr, detangling is our speciality. We've been in the hair industry for years and have worked hard to perfect our range of detangling brushes. In this guide, we've put together our Do's and Don'ts for detangling so that you can get tangle-free hair without the hassle!
3 Hair Detangling Don'ts
Let's start with the negatives. Many things can go wrong when trying to detangle your hair, especially if you follow any advice you find without checking it. Here are the top three things you should not do when detangling your hair:
Don't use hair products that are full of unnatural chemicals. Shampoos and conditioners can damage and tangle your hair if they have a chemical-filled unnatural formula. They can strip the hair's natural oils, making it feel greasy and making your scalp unhappy.
Don't sleep with your hair down. If you have long hair, try braiding your hair for bed or putting it in a ponytail or bun. Make sure to use a soft hair tie like a scrunchie, so there is no pull on the hair.
Don't use badly made hair brushes to detangle your hair. Many companies will pitch their brushes as 'detangling' but won't actually have any detangling technology. Be careful where you source your hairbrush from.
3 Hair De-tangling Do's
Now that we've told you what not to do, we can get into our tips for finding some detangling products that will work to keep your hair smooth and sleek! Here are three top tips for tangle-free hair:
Do find a shampoo and conditioner that works with your hair type. Most of the time, hair will be happy with a naturally formulated shampoo and conditioner that softens and cleanses your hair using essential oils extracted from natural sources. If you have curly hair, you should use hair products that help your curls thrive!
Do brush your hair throughout the day. Your hair is constantly exposed to changing elements – it can tangle in the wind, tangle as you tie it up at work or the gym – there are many reasons why it could get a bit knotty. Taking your brush on the go and regularly brushing out the knots will help your hair stay sleek and prevent further tangling.
Do buy a quality hair brush specially made to detangle your hair without damaging it. Our Knot Dr hair brushes are made with FLEXALITE bristles, which help you to break up tangles without breaking your hair. We have many different brushes to suit all hair types and lifestyles; take a look now!

]]>We suggest you brush your hair with the Knot Dr Pro just before you go to bed so you don’t add to the tangles the knot fairy gives you when you are sleeping.
After brushing, lightly mist your hair with a sprayer or wet your hands in the sink and scrunch the water on your hands into your hair to reform the curls. Don’t do this to soak your hair, just lightly dampen your hair. You can also towel damp your hair to remove any excess moisture. When you wake-up in the morning, you might want to repeat this process for the best results.
Your hairs will then stop dictating the time you spend styling them in the morning!
]]>If your hair tends to look unkempt and seems impossible to smooth and stay groomed, we recommend styles to look more playful and purposefully disheveled!
This should not be confused with 'messy' or 'unkempt', you can achieve a tousled style that is full of character by working to style your hair that way:
Once you have shampooed your hair, use a light conditioner or very little conditioner as this will weigh down the hair.
Before styling, use The Knot Dr. Pro or Pro Mini to detangle and rid your hair of any unwanted knots and tangles.
Using a very watered down “light gel” and dabbing throughout the hair you can then proceed to use “hot rollers” or “curlers” throughout the entire head wrapping curlers alternately forward/back.
Once dried and you’ve removed the rollers/curlers, use a light spray to hold the curls and tousle. Tease out with our Flipcomb Pro for a more natural look. Voila!
]]>They’re our essential tools in our daily grooming routines, but they often accumulate dirt, oil, and residue from hair products over time so it’s so important that you know how to clean your hairbrush.
Regular cleaning not only ensures hygiene but also maintains the effectiveness of your hairbrush.
If you have a Knot Dr hairbrush it couldn’t be easier to keep your brush clean! Click here to find out how.
If you have another brand of brush, here's a comprehensive guide on how to clean your hairbrush effectively to make it last longer and keep your hair looking smooth:
Before you begin, gather the necessary supplies:
• Comb or another clean hairbrush
• Scissors or a cleaning tool
• Mild shampoo or dish soap
• Warm water
• Towel or cloth
Start by removing any hair tangled in the bristles. Using your fingers, a comb, or even scissors, carefully loosen and pull out the hair strands from the bristles. This step will make the cleaning process a breeze!
In a basin or sink, mix warm water with a small amount of mild shampoo or dish soap. The warm water helps dissolve any buildup, while the soap helps break down oils and residues trapped in the bristles.
Submerge the hairbrush in the cleaning solution, ensuring that the bristles are fully immersed. Let it soak for about 10-15 minutes to loosen any remaining dirt and oils.
After soaking, use a cleaning tool, such as an old toothbrush or a comb, to gently scrub the bristles, base, and any other parts of the hairbrush. Pay special attention to areas with stubborn residue or buildup. Rinse the brush thoroughly under running water to remove the cleaning solution and dislodged debris.
After cleaning, shake off excess water from the hairbrush and pat it dry with a towel or cloth. Avoid using a hairdryer as the heat may damage the bristles or handle. Instead, let the hairbrush air dry completely in a well-ventilated area, preferably with the bristles facing downward to prevent water from pooling in the base.
Make cleaning your hairbrush a part of your regular grooming routine.
Think about how frequently your brush touches your head!
Aim to clean it at least once a month, or more often if you use a lot of hair products or have particularly oily hair. Regular maintenance will prolong the lifespan of your hairbrush and keep it hygienic for everyday use.
Our FLEXALITE™ bristles have indeed a unique design that allows them to bend and move through hair easily and reform their shape quickly. To keep them in good form we recommend cleaning the pad and bristles using our KLEEN brush to remove hair build up. Simply run the Kleen several times across the bristles for any of The Knot Dr. line of brushes to remove the loose unwanted hair, dirt and other fluffy stuff from the pad.
No need for cleanser or other chemicals to clean the pad. We also do not recommend the use of any comb.
Our protective traveller cases protect also the pad and the bristles when transporting the brush, keeping it away from damage and dirt. Your brush remains clean and pristine between uses.
Our Phd Hairbrush Kit comes with our slimline, strong detangling brush alongside our KLEEN brush head cleaner and a handy traveller case to keep everything protected and in one place!
]]>A brush with hard bristles will pull the hair while trying to get rid of the knots. Too much tugging and pulling tend to split or fracture the hair, not only on the ends of the hair but also along the follicle (shaft) of the hair itself.
Split ends cannot be healed or fixed after splitting… they must grow out or be cut out.
It is therefore essential to use a brush with very flexible bristles like The Knot Dr. Pro or Pro Mini. They detangle without pulling the hair, eliminating most of the split ends over time.
Note: split ends can also develop by using non-coated elastics or extreme heat on your hair while straightening or blow drying.
]]>It is very important though, whether you have fine thin hair or thick coarse hair, to thoroughly brush your entire head of hair. Those knots that develop in the base of your head are often due to lack of care: You feel like you are brushing your entire head but quite often that area is sensitive and not addressed properly.
Take the time to thoroughly brush your hair with the Knot Dr Pro Mini. Its smaller pad makes it easier to address particularly difficult and sensitive areas. It's important to divide the head into smaller sections for the detangling process, brush against the head, start at base of the head and work your way up….also, on each section, start at the ends of the hair and work your way up
Eliminating balls of knots in the base of the neck will take time but it can be remedied with constant and careful attention.
]]>The quality of the brush makes all the difference, as well as patience and careful/consistent brushing. You need be vigilant and keep brushing every morning and at night. Brush the hair against the head and do not lift the hair as this will tend to pull more. When in the shower or bath be sure to use this time to thoroughly detangle the hair with conditioner and a Knot Dr Pro or Pro Mini brush. Be sure to have the water flow from the top of the head downwards.
I also usually divide the head into smaller sections and always start at the base of the head and work my way up and also the ends of the hair of each section and work my way up.
If the hair is starting to develop a 'dread like’ appearance, start at the base of the dread/knot and brush out slowly and gently to remove. Repeat this procedure for any other knots. The first time will take the longest but constant attention to grooming will eliminate the reappearance of these annoying knots.
This is where engaging the child into the process can make it easier and why I purposefully designed The Knot Dr.’s Knotty Kids® for children. Knotty Kids® fits perfectly in their little hands, but the Flexalite™ bristles are just like the full-size brushes. It helps them take care of their hair just like the grown-ups.
]]>Did you know that your hair is weakest when it’s wet? We therefore recommend a very gentle approach to tackling knots without damaging the hair.
When showering, always have your head directly under the shower so the water flow is going from the top of the head downward.
When washing, always be gentle and don’t agitate the hair too vigorously, then rinse again directing the water downward from the top of the head. Use the same procedure for conditioning to eliminate extra tangling.
It is essential to avoid scrambling the hair during the towel drying process.
Immediately use the Knot Dr. Pro or Pro Mini and brush your hair directly against the head. Do not lift the hair as this will tend to pull more, stressing the hair.
Courtesy of the Pro unique design and the right amount of gentle Flexalite™ bristles, you can count on painless and snag-free detangling.
Caught in the rain: the same procedure applies. Firstly, use a towel to pat the hair dry, then use the Knot Dr Pro to brush the hair against the scalp (do not lift the hair).
]]>Once you get out of the shower, use your Knot Dr. Pro brush to completely detangle and get rid of any unwanted knots. Once this is complete, take a pea size of mild gel and mix in your hands with water so that it's almost diluted and very watery. Then push up your hair in handfuls starting at the bottom of your hair towards your head. Do not pull down as this will remove any movement you have in your hair.
This will show you how much natural curls you have.
Then, starting at the bottom of your hairline take approximately 1 inch sections of hair and loosely wrap around your finger as if you were winding string around your finger, then let go. Do not disturb the previous section and go to the next 1 inch section and repeat until you’ve covered your entire head with the same process. For best results, let your hair air dry. Voila!
For more volume you can use your Knot Dr. Pro and brush through gently. (your hair must be completely dry)
IMPORTANT: DO NOT use too much gel as this will make your hair hard and crunchy. You only want to use the gel to shape the curl naturally and gently hold it in place.
]]>Here is what The Knot Dr would recommend:
Firstly, you need to create a base by straightening/smoothing your hair using your favourite straightening serum or smoothing cream. Emulsify a pea-size of product in your hands and spread with your hands throughout your hair and brush thoroughly with The Knot Dr. Pro to distribute evenly and remove all the knots.
IMPORTANT: Always use less cream than more… If you find this is not enough (straightening serum/smoothing cream) based on the amount of hair or frizziness you have, you can apply another pea-size amount. Using too much could possibly weigh down the hair and the hair would become difficult to fully dry.
Then use the Pro Brush to hold the hair firmly while applying blow dryer heat to the hair. This will reduce the frizziness. This will set the base for beautiful smooth hair.
Depending on the finished result you are looking for (movement or flat hair) you can use either a straightening or a curling iron, taking small sections of your hair and methodically going through your hair. This will create a beautiful smooth flat or curly look.
To create more fullness, you can use your Knot Dr. Pro once again to brush through your hair to create more volume.
If you don’t have access to hair tools, brushing and using your hands for control will create smoother results. If you have no access to smoothing cream, you can use a light conditioner but do not overuse or you will have a greasy result.
Always invest in a good detangler like The Pro for detangling and dispersing product prior to styling your hair. Use it also on finished hair for smoothing hair. You can also tip your head upside down and brush through for volume.

]]>A lot of parents have their children in swimming lessons at an early age. Young hair is often already fine and prone to tangles, chlorine can dry their hair and make it more difficult to detangle.
To keep young locks in order and avoid painful detangling sessions, The Knot Dr not only recommends the use of a swimming cap but also encourages parents to apply a small amount of conditioner under the cap.
There should be no fear of conditioner leaking into the pool if parents work the conditioner through the hair by brushing evenly with your favourite Knot Dr. brush and then cover the hair with the swimming cap.
Conditioner will provide an extra layer of protection for children's hair while swimming. When they're finished, take the cap off and gently brush the hair with The Knot Dr. Pro Swim once again to remove any tangles and continue to work the conditioner through the hair. Then, wash the hair and be surprised how soft and smooth their hair will feel.
This is also a great secret for Mums’ hair too!
]]>Using the right brush designed for your hair type is crucial to keep your tangles strong and healthy and limit hair loss.
Just like a harsh exfoliator can scrape your skin, using the wrong brush can damage your hair cuticles, cause micro-tears to your strands and irritate your scalp. The pressure you apply with a brush can also create breakage.
The Pro's unique FLEXALITE™ bristles enable the brush to flex through the hair, helping to smooth and detangle without breakage.
Using the Knot Dr. Pro large and round bristles tips on a daily basis just to stimulate the scalp can also help to reduce any hair loss promoted by natural causes.
Recommendation: Use the Knot Dr. Pro in the morning for a few minutes and brush the scalp in a circular motion (reverse circular motion every 2 minutes) and then repeat in the evening. This will not only stimulate your scalp but help to decrease any natural hair loss.
If you feel like you’re losing more than you should, you might want to see your physician to rule out other possible causes.
]]>It is also important to keep tangles out of the hair by carefully brushing through your extensions while being careful not to damage the bond. The gentle bristles of The Knot Dr Pro are your best ally!
They are soft enough to flow through the extensions without friction and damage. They detangle without adding static to human or synthetic pieces.
]]>Whether you shampoo every day or every other day or only twice a week it's important to use The Knot Dr Pro or Pro Mini brush to stimulate the scalp. Gentle massage will create the right sebum and oils naturally found in the scalp, keeping your hair naturally smooth.
]]>
